Blank vs pre-encoded RFID casino chips: which should you order?
Short answer: order chips blank. Each chip should leave the factory with a unique ID and no value, and the casino should write denomination and casino code on site.
What "blank" means
A blank RFID chip already carries its unique ID from the factory. What it doesn't carry is value: no denomination, no casino code. Those are written at the casino.
Why blank is safer
Theft in transit:a chip with no value is worthless if a carton goes missing.
One casino, one system:after encoding, each casino's chips work only in its own system.
Copy protection:with the UID locked, the chip ID can't be copied or rewritten.
What to check before mass production
- Tell the chip maker your reader model.
- Ask for a sample stack and test it on your own reader.
